Oh Alice!!

I found a new Challenge Blog and it should be interesting coming up with cards for this one.. I love Alice in Wonderland and I can’t wait for the new Tim Burton Movie with Johhny Depp.. I will be seeing it in 3-D IMAX!

The Blog is called Oh Alice.. and we’re on Chapter one Down the Rabbit Hole. The challenge is Alice Gets Glam, the inspiration comes from the new Alice in Wonderland Book of shadows from Urban Decay..

I got my hands on this gorgeous palette a few weeks ago and you can’t go wrong with inspiration from these colors.. There is just the right amount of Glitter and bold colors for everyone…

This is my first time using Digital Stamps and I have to say I don’t like them.. There isn’t anything wrong with Digital stamps.. But they aren’t for me I don’t have the patience so don’t expect to see many more cards with digital images from me.. These images are adorable and I wish they were in rubber too!! (if anyone has some tips on sizing them or coloring them so they don’t smear.. please share with me)

My Alice looks a bit naughty with those shoes she has on..lol But this image is adorable..and right up my alley.. The image and sentiment are from Sassy Studios. This was a fun card to make.. My Mushrooms are from CTMH and I’ve had this set laying around for ages.. I love the way it came out though..

I printed Alice out and colored her in with Watercolor Wonder Crayons and a touch of ink.. and My Mushrooms are stamped in Black StazOn on watercolor paper and colored in with ink and an Aqua painter.. Very Sassy! I added some Bling with Rhinestones..

THOSE SHROOMS ARE AWESOME!!! Definitely my favorite ones I’ve seen so far during this challenge. As for the digi – you did great with her! I wonder if your issue was because you were using watercolours. Did you print her on an inkjet printer? (water-based ink; it’ll run.) Couple of ideas: 1) cut watercolour paper to a size your printer will accept (like 8.5×11 – to lessen waste, I print either a whole bunch of the same image, or a variety of images at the same time on one sheet) and 2) spray your printed page with an acrylic or workable fixative – Krylon makes one; I bought mine at Michael’s in the paint section – it’s in a spray can (read the labels. looks just like all the other Krylon spray paint.)

*Disclaimer – not sure how the fixative wil react with watercolours. Never tried it! That was actually a suggestion given to me to prevent inkjet smearing when using digis with Copics, but in my mind it should work the same – unless it’s water-based, too… hmmm…have to check that.

Holy cow. Apparently I wrote you a novel. ;)
