Emboss Resist…

Nicole Heady offered up a challenge on her blog for the Emboss Resist technique.. It’s to help kick off some new changes coming soon to Papertrey Ink’s Website.. A cool feature called Make it Mondays, It will be a challenge series featuring technique videos.. Sounds pretty cool to me!

So here is what I came up with.. Sorry my photo didn’t come out to good, I worked on this all afternoon and not it’s 11pm and very dark in the house.. Storming outside, so I wouldn’t of  had any sunlight either.

This came out just as I wanted it too.. I stamped the Gratuitous Graffiti Background stamp in VersaMark on Glossy White card stock and embossed it in White.. Then I swirled Pretty in Pink, So Saffron, Bashful Blue & Soft Suede using some sponges to make the image pop out!! I wanted it to look vintage so I added the Soft Suede just around the edges..

Here is a close up of my hardware!!

I took a piece of  Very Vanilla Hodgepodge and rubbed some Soft Suede ink over it and heated it with Clear embossing powder to give it just a antiqued look.. and then I took a hammer to it!! Gave it a roughed up look so it worked!!! I stamped the U from Wild West Alphabet in Pretty in Pink and the Thank(s) from Fundamental Phrases over it in Soft Suede. My butterflies are from the new Embosslit and I inked the edges up with some more Soft Suede!! So what do you think?
