Welcome back to another Friday Mashup!!! This week Shirley, Terry and I are doing a Color Challenge…

My grandparents Anniversary is next week along with my Mother’s Anniversary and My brothers Birthday.. So, I need to get busy!

I made this card for my Grandparents, if they peek in and see it that’s okay!!! Because it’s Friday and the 24th is Tuesday so it will be late maybe… This way they know it’s coming in the mail Ha Ha!! Works right?

My base is Pumpkin PIe and I embossed it with the new Textile Folder.. I added a piece of Pear Pizzaz that was rough up and a tiny strip of Concord Crush.. My focal image is stamped on a piece of Confetti White using the grass from The Inspired by Nature Set. My butterflies are from Flight of the Butterfly and they are stamped in Pumpkin Pie & Concord Crush.

My Sentiment is from a retired SU set and I stamped it in Concord Crush using the marker on Pear Pizazz. I punched it out with the large Oval and then I layered in on a scalloped Oval in Concord Crush. I added some Hemp Twine and popped it up!!

Now onto my card which is the reason you are here…lol

Do you remember this Color Challenge back in Dec.? I didn’t either so don’t feel bad..lol I finally got around to make a card for my own Challenge and boy those were some tricky colors to work with!

This is what I came up with..

I used the set “My Matryoshka” from the Occasions Mini Catalog. One of those sets I had to have and it’s been sitting ever since, I really need to stop doing that!

I colored my image with Crushed Curry, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Certainly Celery and Pink Passion. Then I stamped the rose in Chocolate Chip all over the card base and layered my focal image onto a Real Red piece that was punched with the Spiral Tab Punch. I added some spritzed Chocolate Chip to it as well. My sentiment is from…….Drum Roll!!!! Teeny Tiny Wishes.. Yeah Yeah, I know I love this set a little too much.

So this is it for me until Sunday.. I’ll be headed back from San Diego on Saturday!

My base is Kraft with layers of Orchid Opulence, Old Olive & Rich Razzleberry.. The color challenge had an extra option you could add in with the swirls.. So, I ran the Orchid piece through Big Shot with a texture plate. Tip* spritz your card stock with some rubbing alcohol before you run it through with a texture plate and you will get a deeper impression.

I hope everyone has sunshine where you are.. it’s almost 80 out here with lots of sunshine.. I have 2 sick kiddos though so I wish they were feeling better so we could be outside.. One is having some Asthma issues and the outdoors is not his friend right now and the other caught a stomach bug.. Maybe they will be feeling better tomorrow an we can get out for a walk!

This card is for the final Sketch Challenge and Jacob’s Colors Color Challenge #4.. I really like these colors..

Check out this cool pattern paper (non SU) I had in my stash..It was perfect! Lot’s of Olive with a hint of Russet and a touch of Black..

These are Jacob’s colors so I had to use a wolf only fitting.. My stamps are from Artfully Inkables. I used SU’s Modern Label punch for my sentiment and the small Oval punch to back it.. I cut the wolf out with the Coluzzle and the black oval behind it. Both images are stamped on watercolor paper.

I stamped my images in Timber Brown StazOn and it failed me big time.. this is the second time this has happen with this ink pad.. So I can say don’t use this ink pad when you are using watercolor paper..

There are a few more challenges I didn’t get a chance to do yet so I’m going to work on those tomorrow. Check back to take a look..

I choose the set season of Friendship and I made a winter card.. I’m in the middle of a insane snow storm in Southern VA it’s been snowing for 14 hours straight, and last time I looked at my ruler I had in the ground we were almost at 11 inches in one area in my backyard.. So I was in the mood for a snowy card!!! I used some retired Baja Breeze ribbon as well as the ink!!!

Hello! Happy Tuesday! Alison here with our Second Twilight Tuesday Color Challenge! This week, my colors were inspired by Bella. I chose Garnet because originally, that was her favorite gemstone (before she went & changed it to Topaz for Edward’s eyes!). Next, I picked Phoenix Sky Blue because Bella frequently mentions how she misses the colors of her hometown. Lastly, I decided that we need to throw a neutral into the mix, so I picked Forks’ Sky. It’s a grayish green. Don’t get too thrown by the shade I chose… if you just use a regular gray, that’s fine! But if you wanna try to really wow us… go for this a little more interesting, if not a wee bit dreary color! Can’t wait to see your creations!!!

I was bummed I didn’t still have a piece of SU’s Soft Sky laying around that would of been the perfect blue.. But that retired what 2 years ago? I really liked that color too… So I had a piece of patterned paper (Non SU) laying on my desk and it looked pretty good so I went with it..

For the Garnet I used some Riding Hood Red… Garnet is my Birthstone being a January baby!! And for the Forks’ Sky I used Sahara Sand.. This color is perfect because it takes on a different look depending on what other colors you use it with..and it looks like the sky I remember in WA 10 months out of the year..lol

I used this week’s Sweet Sunday Sketch for my layout.. Stamp Sets are the Sanded Background & Heard from the heart…. I hope everyone is having a good week so far, mines not starting out so good.. I got put on crutches today for a possible bone fracture in my foot, it’s going to be a bit challenging around here taking care of my kids with the husband gone… But I will find a way like I always do.. Resting my foot will give me lots of time to stamp so that’s a bonus Right?

This card is for my good friend Tera in WA.. Her birthday was on the 16th and I’m a few days late on getting a card in the mail but I did make sure to tell her Happy Birthday on her special day. I’ve had this cupcake set for awhile and was happy I had a chance to use it!

My color combo is for this week’s color throwdown…

The kids and I are having a Sunday in our PJ’s… Be nice if Daddy was here to enjoy it with us.. But that’s okay we know he isn’t having a lot of fun being away either… Back to making so more cards.. Hope your having a great Sunday!

Comment portion is all about red…. I’m not a huge fan of red really.. I have red hair does that count? I’ve seen red many a times!!! Actually I see red often living here in Hampton Roads with the way people drive..lol and I LOVE, LOVE red velvet cake…. if out of everything that is the one thing I miss the most about my new eating style that doesn’t involve cake!!

Now onto my card… I’m not super happy about this, it’s not me and I think I over did it when I added the slight shade of blue in the V to look like water in a vase..

I wanted to use some of the new Sending Love Specialty DSP .. It has glitter on one side of every sheet.. How cool is that.. Can you see that sparkle? Does it Dazzle you? (Yeah, I had to go there) My set is Love You Much and I also used the Heart to Heart Punch.. So what do you think?

My colors are from the first ever Twilight Tuesday Color Challenge… I used More Mustard, Dusty Durango & Very Vanilla.

The layout is from last week’s MoJo Monday Sketch..

I made the brads by punching out some 1/4″ circles of Dusty Durango and adhering them to the card and then I added some Crystal Effects over them.. It was messy but then end result was what I was looking for.

All supplies are Stampin’ Up! except for the Lion Stamp…..

Time for another Color Challenge.. and this time we have a Prize!

The colors this week come from this adorable pillow I came across at Pier 1, these colors are great for any room and the stitching gives it a unique look!
