Friday Mashup #59

As you may have noticed I’ve been playing around with my blog this past week…Ta Da.. lol   This is my new Blog look for now.. I loved my other one but needed a change. Thanks to the Fabulous Veronica at VKDesigns who helped me out. I’ll be popping some more things in here and there.

It’s Friday and time for the Mashup! Can I just say Thank you to everyone that has been playing along with us each week. You guys totally ROCK! Kasey is our Host this week and she’s giving us the Edge! This week’s Mashup is to create a project with a Decorative Edge and some Ribbon and/or bows.

I’ve been taking a little simpler route on most of my cards these days and wow you can get a lot more done if you keep it simple. I started with a Poppy Parade card base and then I trimmed about an 1″ off the end. I used one of the Edgelits Dies in Pool Party and put it along the edge and adorned it with some Pearls.

I added some Black ribbon and I stamped the sentiment from Delightful Dozen in Black and cut it out with some more Edgelits and added some Butterflies in Pool Party from the Beautiful Wings Embosslit.

The Color Combo I used comes from this week’s Create with Connie & Mary Challenge… I love this combo…

Head over to the Friday Mashup blog and see what the rest of the Design Team created this week.. and we hope you will join us. And Make sure you play along with Create with Connie & Mary.. You don’t want to miss this Color Combo!

Paper Lovin’ Gals #32

This week at the Paper Lovin’ Gals.. it’s all about color and Trees. Well really it’s about what you see in the Inspiration photo… The sky is the limit!

I LOVE how my card came out… I started with the tree image. Using some watercolor paper I made the patterns of colors with my Aqua-painter and inks. After that dried I stamped the tree image from Trendy Trees and then added the dots with the end of paintbrush.

My card base is Soft Suede and then I stamped the Wood Grain Background on it in Soft Suede. I cut the tree image into strips and adhered them to a piece of Soft Suede and the attached that to the front of the card with some dimensionals.

Instead of ribbon I added some Lucky Limeade Baker’s Twine and then a Turquoise Button. I didn’t include a sentiment on the front, one I know what I want to use the card for I will add one to the inside.

So what do you see in the Inspiration Photo above? Head over to the Paper Lovin’ Gals blog and see what the rest of the Design Team created and we hope you’ll join us this week!

Friday Mashup #58

This week Lisa is our Hostess and we are horning our Veterans and Fallen Heros. Memorial Day is just around the corner and this is a great challenge to show your support for the Troops or to just say Thanks. This is a special Challenge to Lisa and myself since we are both Military Families. It’s also a Color Challenge.. Who doesn’t like a Color Challenge?

So here is the “Mashup” Challenge :
  1. Make a project that’s “Patriotic or for Remembrance”.
  2. Or Make a project with the colors ” Whisper White, Night of Navy, Poppy Parade & Daffodil Delight.”
  3. Or “Mash it Up” and create a ”Remembrance or Patriotic project using the colors above.”
  4. Donate your card to a Wounded Solider or that Special Service Member in your Life!
* If you would like to Donate a Card to a Wounded Service Member you can send your cards to Holly. The Red Cross at the Walter Reed National Medical Center will accept the cards and distribute them to Wounded Service Members throughout the hospital. Please send your cards to Holly Endress P.O. Box 18 Arnold, MD 21012 no later then May 31st. She will be hand delivering them to the Red Cross at the WRNMC.

For my card I started with a Night of Navy Card base and then I added a layer of Poppy Parade that I embossed with the Houndstooth Embossing Folder. Then I added a layer of Daffodil Delight and I stamped along the edge with the stars from the retired set The Free & The Brave.

For the image… I stamped it onto a piece of Whisper White in Night of Navy Ink and then matted it to a piece of Night of Navy as well. I stamped a second image onto a piece of scrap white card stock and then punched out the portion of the image I wanted. I colored it in with some Poppy Parade Ink . I used a 1 1/4″ circle punch and a 1 3/8″ circle punched from some more Night of Navy. I added it to my image with some dimensionals creating the Spotlighting technique.

Paper Lovin’ Gals #31

Wow I can’t believe it’s Friday already.. this week flew by. I’m so behind in everything these days. I need more hours in the day or just less stuff to do I think..lol

This week at the Paper Lovin’ Gals we are one challenge #31.. How cute is the inspiration photo?

I tired something new for my project… I started with a piece of Crumb Cake and I embossed it with the Manhattan Flower Folder and then I sponged the raised image and the edges with some White Ink. Using some Poppy Parade & Peach Parfait Ink with an Agua Painter I colored within the embossed image and let dry.

I layered the flower piece onto some Poppy Red DSP and then onto a Marina Mist card base. I added some Marina Mist ribbon and a Poppy Parade Brad. For the sentiment I added a tab behind the folded down corner. I stamped Thank You in Peach Parfait from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Be sure to head over to the Paper Lovin’ Gals blog and see what the rest of the Design Team created this week and we hope you will join us. I’ll see ya back her later today with my Friday Mashup project.

Friday Mashup #57 with some PLG.

This week at the Friday Mashup we are joining forces with the Paper Lovin’ Gals inspiration Challenge. Heidi is our hostess and she created a fun challenge with a Pop-Up element on your card. And we’re making cards for Mom!

I stayed with the same color scheme I used for my card yesterday.. My base is Crumb Cake and I used the Sketch from Clean and Simple #188.

I die cut some Butterflies from The Beautiful Wings Embosslit in Melon Mambo, Blushing Bride & Cherry Cobbler. I also made a scalloped edge from some Blushing Bride DSP. On the inside of the card is where all the magic is happening..

I punched out a 2 1/2″ Circle and cut it into a spiral and then adhered it to the bottom and top later of the inside and added the Butterflies with some Tombow Mono Adhesive. The Sentiment is from Delightful Dozen and the Curving one on the front is from Flight of the Butterflies.

Head over to the Friday Mashup Blog and see what the rest of the Design Team created this week and be sure to swing by the Paper Lovin’ Gals and see what they created with Pop-Ups! We hope you will join us this week!

It’s a Paper Lovin’ Gals Mashup!

This week at the Paper Lovin’ Gals we are joining forces with the Friday Mashup!

This week’s challenge is to use the above inspiration photo and make a project for “Mother’s Day” With a Pop Up element. I love the colors in those cookies.. I picked out Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake, Melon Mambo & Cherry Cobbler.

I broke out the sets Delightful Dozen & Field Flowers for my card.. I love Field Flowers it’s so pretty!

I didn’t create a Pop Up inside my card but I did give lots of dimension to my flowers and sentiment. These colors go great with Crumb Cake as a base.

What do you see in the Inspiration photo? The Colors, the cookies? Head over to the Paper Lovin’ Gals Blog and see what the rest of the Design Team created this week and we hope you will join us. I’ll see you back here tomorrow with another card for the Friday Mashup.

Friday Mashup with the Muppets!!

Woo Hoo… It’s Friday and I’m so happy, it’s been a long week! I’m the hostess this week and we are Mash’ing it up with the Muppets.. April is a special month for two reasons it’s Autism Awareness Month and Month of the Military Child. I thought this would be a great time to make a card for that special Child in your life no matter their age!

My favorite Muppet is Fozzie Bear! The colors I pulled from Fozzie are More Mustard, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Regal Rose and Real Red.

My card is for a Teen’s Birthday.. or a Teen Girl’s Birthday I should say. I used the FTL Sketch # 186 and I added some butterflies. My card base is Chocolate Chip with a layer of More Mustard DSP. Then I added a section for my sentiment with Confetti White, Chocolate Chip and Regal Rose.

The sentiment is stamped in Chocolate Chip and then I matted the white piece onto more Chocolate Chip and added some Scallops from Regal Rose. My Butterflies are die cut with the Sizzlit in Chocolate Chip, Real Read & Regal Rose.

So who’s your Favorite Muppet? Head over to the Friday Mashup Blog and see what the rest of the Design Team created this week based off their favorite Muppet and then show use yours.. We can’t wait to see what you create!
