This week Terry, Shirley & I are doing a sketch.. If you want to play along just link up in this post and I’ll post your creations later in the week…
My colors are from this weeks Color Throwdown which I belive is #108
Can you actually over distress a card? I think I might have..lol It looks like I threw it in the street and a few trucks ran it over..I was going for a distressed look but I think I got carried away.. I like it though!
I used a piece of Crumb Cake (AKA Kraft) as my base and then I added a layer of retired So Saffron DSP and rounded the corners using a 1/2″ Corner Rounder.. Then I stamped my flowers in Chocolate Chip from the Hostess level 2 set Fast & Fabulous on Confetti Cream, Then I stamped the 2nd Stamp (Step 2 Stamping) in So Saffron & Crumb Cake..
I roughed the edges with the cutter tool kit and used some Chocolate Chip ink on the edges.. As I did with my card base and DSP layer.. I added a scallop border in Chocolate Chip and popped it up.. Then I stamped the Thank You from the Short & Sweet Set in Chocolate Chip onto a piece of Confetti Cream added some more Chocolate Chip ink and adhered it to the card and added a Chocolate Chip Button!
I hope everyone has a great weekend planned ahead.. My husband came home from work @ 9:30am today. I have a sick kiddo home again today though so we can’t get out and do anything but he is enjoying a day of PlayStation to himself While I catch up on some stamping!!!
Make sure you check out Terry & Shirley’s Blogs to see what they created for the Mashup! this week and remember link up if you want to play along… Have a great Labor Day Weekend!!!
I’m playing catch up today.. and I will be back later today with my Friday Mashup! Card… But here is another video using Bleach with your Stamping Projects…
While the bleach won’t harm you stamps right away, if the bleach is left on your stamps without cleaning them for a longer period of time it can dry the rubber out and over time they will crack.. It will also eat through some brands of acrylic stamps over time if you don’t clean and condition them after use.
If you are making multiple cards at one time the bleach doesn’t need to be cleaned off each time… Just clean them up when you are done..
The Holidays are right around the corner.. Time to get started on those Halloween Projects and maybe even get a jump start on your Christmas Cards!!

Time for another Mashup!! This week we are making cards with Designer Series Paper.. Make sure you stop over at Shirley’s Blog and see what she made for this week too…
I used some retired DSP and the Greeting Card kids set.. This card was started Monday I think and sat on my desk as a card base with a strip of DSP attached till I found my way back to it…lol I used this week’s Sweet Sunday Sketch for my layout.
My card base is Chocolate Chip along with some Real Red, Pretty in Pink & Very Vanilla. I colored the little girl in with the coordinating colors adding some Blush Blossom for her skin tone and a touch of Whisper White Ink to her collar and ruffles. I stamped the sentiment in Chocolate Chip on a piece of Pretty in Pink and punched it out with the Modern Label Punch and added some Vanilla Brads.
I wanted to keep it soft and cute but with a bit of sparkle so I added some Red Glitter from one of the Glitter Stacks to the heart with some Tombow Mono Multi Glue. Love that stuff!! I used the Circle Scissors Plus to make the circles. The Scallop Circle is from a non SU punch.
Don’t forget to check out Shirley’s Blog, Terry is on Vacation this week but I bet she might make a card up when she gets back. I hope everyone has a great weekend planned.
Out of all the samples in the new Idea Book & Catalog.. The “Spooky” card on page 24 if my absolute Favorite! I had to CASE it.. and it uses a technique as well.. So, I made a video on Bleaching with some other tips in it as well. This is a long one, just a heads up! I spent just about the entire day yesterday trying to get it edited down to fit on YouTube… it was over 20 minutes when I started. Enjoy!
P.S. The Friday Mashup! is going to be up later this evening… Had a rough week, if you follow me on Twitter you know the School lost my 8 year old non verbal Autistic child on the first day.. NIGHTMARE!!! So, I’m catching up on my projects.
Today is my Brother’s Birthday… I made him a card in My Digital Studio since I’m not good at getting things in the mail on time. My grandparents card is still on my desk and their Anniversary is today as well.. I posted his card to his Facebook page and sent it in an email.. Boy have times changed!
My brother Josh owns a Bar-B-Que Business called Tiny’s Bar-B-Que, best pull pork EVAH!! If you are in The Central PA area and need some Bar-B-Que Catering.. look him up!!
I loved the King of the Grill set in the Mini catalog but I knew it wasn’t one I would use a lot so when SU offered it as a MDS download I was all over it! The only thing about brush stamp sets like this in MDS is you can’t color it in MDS unless you print it out and color it by hand or you have to move it into another program and color it then move it back.. It’s a lot of work, but that’s what I did and I was pretty happy with the results.
All of the elements in MDS can be used in other programs as well, which make it’s versatile.. if you don’t have the program and just want a few images you can purchase them and then use them in Photoshop, Paint, Word etc…
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about MDS or if you would like to purchase the program or images.
Welcome back to another Friday Mashup!!! This week Shirley, Terry and I are doing a Color Challenge…
My grandparents Anniversary is next week along with my Mother’s Anniversary and My brothers Birthday.. So, I need to get busy!
I made this card for my Grandparents, if they peek in and see it that’s okay!!! Because it’s Friday and the 24th is Tuesday so it will be late maybe… This way they know it’s coming in the mail Ha Ha!! Works right?
My base is Pumpkin PIe and I embossed it with the new Textile Folder.. I added a piece of Pear Pizzaz that was rough up and a tiny strip of Concord Crush.. My focal image is stamped on a piece of Confetti White using the grass from The Inspired by Nature Set. My butterflies are from Flight of the Butterfly and they are stamped in Pumpkin Pie & Concord Crush.
My Sentiment is from a retired SU set and I stamped it in Concord Crush using the marker on Pear Pizazz. I punched it out with the large Oval and then I layered in on a scalloped Oval in Concord Crush. I added some Hemp Twine and popped it up!!
Hop over to Terry & Shirley’s Blogs and see what they made this week.. And if you want to play along link up in the comment section and we’ll show off your work next week! My post is up early because I have an appointment in the AM and I’m leaving really early!!
Remember my desk picture from yesterday? Well I was going nowhere with my cards all day! I made some Margaritas sat at my desk and said I’m going to do this!! and Viola’ I guess it took some Tequila!! My desk top exploded before I was done..
I was on a roll though…My design isn’t what I planned but I went with it. I whipped up 10 of these last night!
I love this glitter.. it has these cute little gold and black stars in it!! I don’t know where I got it at, a craft show somewhere I think HI so that would of been like 7 years ago!! I double stamped the Cauldron and popped it up with Dimensionals.
I used some very old retired DSP, Basic Black & Whisper White card stock, Old Olive 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon, Top Note Die, Medium Oval Punch, More Mustard Brads and the Halloween Hoot Stamp Set.
This week has been a whole lotta nothin’…I’ve stamped and thrown away and started over a million times! I have a million swaps that need to be done and I’m getting nowhere. Don’t you hate it when you have an idea in your head and you just can’t implement it?
The pile in the corner near the window on my desk is getting higher and higher each day because I just throw everything there thinking I might come back to it. Sorry my photo is so dark, it’s been raining here since 4am and it’s dark and dreary! I’m not complaining though anything that gets us closer to cooler weather I’m all in!!
