FM#43… Try Something New!

It’s Friday Yay!!! I’m ready for Saturday so I can sleep in, how about you? It’s been a long busy week… I didn’t get much stamping done as you may have noticed by my lack of posting. I’m trying to get ahead where I can crank out a few projects ahead of time. I did get some cleaning and organizing done so I have a nice pile of goodies for a giveaway soon.

Now it’s Friday and time for a new Friday Mashup Challenge! This week Kim is our hostess and she created this great Sketch and we’re Mashing it up with Something NEW from you stash…

I have received 2 Stampin’ Orders in the last few weeks and I have a pile of new goodies waiting to be used! When I saw the new Occasion Mini Catalog, the first Stamp set I had to have was the one called “Gnome Sweet Gnome”.

How stink’in cute is this stamp set? There is another set as well that just has Gnome sayings to go with it! So I broke this set out to use for my project today.. along with the new DSP you can get for free during Sale-a-Bration called Everyday Enchantment.

I started with a Soft Suede card base and then I added some pieces of the DSP. For my Oval I used a die cut that embossed the edges as well on a piece of Very Vanilla. Using the Stamp-a-ma-jig and some Black ink I stamped all my images into a little scene. Using the same colors that are in the Paper… I colored the images in with an Aqua Painter & Inks.

It’s looking a bit like Forks, WA outside today so there is no sunlight to get a good photo..lol But you might be able to see the tiny bit of Pool Party I sponged around my image and then on the lantern I colored it with So Saffron and added some Dazzling Diamonds too it for sparkle. The sentiment is just stamped onto Very Vanilla and then punched out with the Word Window punch. And a piece of Lucky Limeade ruffled ribbon on the top.. I LOVE this ribbon!

Head over to the Friday Mashup Blog and see what the rest of the Design Team created this week.. Lots of great uses of this fun Sketch! We hope you’ll play along.. The linky will close on Thursday Feb. 2nd at 12am EST.

My desk was looking a bit cluttered last night when I finished my card up..lol I think it may be time to find the wood top again.

Have a great weekend.. I hope to get some Stamping done!

Paper Lovin’ Gals #16… It’s a Flutter!

It’s Thursday and time for another great challenge at the Paper Lovin’ Gals.. This week we have a gorgeous photo of some Butterflies for your inspiration!

I choose the Butterflies of course and I went with the Pinks in this photo.. I have to say my card took a very long time. Nothing was coming together the way I wanted it to and it became 4 different projects. I tore one apart after another and started over. I think my end result was worth it though.

My card base is 4×4.. I started with a piece of Rich Razzleberry and then I added a layer or Water Color paper. I stamped the Butterfly images from the SU set  Precious Butterflies. I stamped the images in Regal Rose & Rich Razzleberry  and then I went back in with my Aqua Painter and smoothed them out a bit. I did the same on the Main panel with the stem image.

I stamped the sentiment from the same set in Black ink and then I added the butterflies from the Beautiful Wings Embosslit. For the pearls I just used some Sharpies to color them pink & purple. I also added some white Baker’s Twine.

Make sure you head over to the Paper Lovin’ Gals blog and see what the rest of the Design Team created this week.. And we hope you will play along with us.

Friday Mashup #42 It’s All about Color!

Well it’s Friday and time once again for the Friday Mashup! This week Rita is our Hostess and she is bringing us a Color Challenge and Mashing it up with some Paper Piercing!

I’ve gotten the cough & sore throat my son had last week so I wasn’t feeling too hot today so I went with a CASE card.. I made my version of a card featured in the Occasion Mini catalog using the set P.S. I love you. This was the second set I had to have from the catty, the first being the Gnome set!

I started with an Early Espresson card base and then I added a piece of the new Twitterpated DSP in Blushing Bride. I paper pierced the edges using my piercing tool and guide. Then I stamped the Heart image in Riding Hood Red onto the same color of Card stock for a tone on tone look and punched it out with the Heart Punch. For the sentiment I used my markers to color in it and used the Modern Label Punch.

The hearts are from the new Embosslit called Fashionable Hearts. I die cut them in Riding Hood Red, Whisper White, Early Espresso & Blushing Bride. I added a Blushing Bride button from the Mini Catalog as well and threaded some Early Espresso Baker’s Twine through it. On the sample in the catalog they had a nice pretty bow off to the side, but my Baker’s Twine was not having it when it came time to make a bow. So, I changed that up as well as the colors.

Make sure you head over to the Friday Mashup Blog and see what the rest of the Design Team created this week.. So many stunning Samples! This is a challenge you will want to join in for sure… How can you pass up this color combo?

I hope everyone has a great weekend, today is my actual Birthday just one more year closer to the big 40..lol  I’m getting a pedicure this morning and having lunch with my neighbor (Who’s Birthday is today too) and then my husband and I are supposed to see a movie later tonight. But we’ll see how all that goes once I wake up in the AM. I hope this sickness stays at a low level.

Paper Lovin’ Gals #15 w/ some FTL

Whoooa is it Thursday already? Man this week is totally flying bye! It’s been madness to say the least around here, I have a SU order that’s been sitting in a box since Tuesday and I have yet had a chance to open it and drool! Hopefully tonight I can get some stamp time in. Okay I have 8 minutes to write this before I’m out the door again. Ready Set…

It’s Thursday and time for another great challenge at the Paper Lovin’ Gals. This week we’re on Lucky #15! Look at the Yellow… Lots of bright colors here and I think you could do a lot with the Inspiration from this image.

I started with a Sketch from FTL#173 .. Then I used a white card base and the SU set Precious Butterflies… Yes we all know I love the Butterflies! It’s 26 degrees out and I’m thinking about Spring and Butterflies what can I say. I stamped them in Daffodil Delight with some Old Olive & Chocolate Chip. Then I added a border of Chocolate Chip that was embossed in the Big Shot with the Polka Dot folder. The Butterfly border is Martha Stewart.

The butterflies that popped out from the Border I used on the Flower image and I covered them in Crystal Ice Stickles.. This is a fun border punch especially if you like Butterflies..lol

It just got down raining outside when I took the photo so you can’t see the sparkle as well. But it’s pretty in the light, The glitter is a big chunk and multi colored. Head over to the Paper Lovin’ Gals Blog and see what the rest of the Design team Created this week.. Lots of great projects to get your started, then create a project of you own and link up we can’t wait to see what you create this week!

FM#41 A Note of Thanks..

I’m so late getting this post up today sorry about that.. I’ve had a kiddo home with a 103 fever for the last few days and he’s managed to pass it onto me. So I’m not feeling that well today I’m moving a bit slow.

Lesley is our Hostess this week and she has a great Challenge this week that will help you use up some of that DSP/Pattern Paper and get some Thank You cards into your stash. Create a project using “Pattern/DSP” with a “Thank You” Sentiment.

I CASE’d a card from the Idea Book & Catalog and I changed it up a bit.. This was a great use of DSP and scraps as well.  I started with my color combo from the Color Coach: Peach Parfait, Pear Pizzaz, Not Quite Navy and I added in some Very Vanilla. I distressed all the edges with some Chocolate Chip ink.

It’s so windy outside today I had to put my card in the side of a cement block so it wouldn’t blow away.. Ha Ha! I used the Beautiful Butterflies Sizzix die & the Thank You Kindly stamp set. I added a touch of bling with some Rhinestones to give it a little girly vibe.

Head over to the Friday Mashup and see what the rest of the Design Team created this week.. There is a lot of great inspiration to get you started, then create your “Mashup” and link up. We can’t wait to see what you create. Have a great weekend, I plan on doing some more organizing of my craft area so look for some Blog Candy soon as I purge!  Thanks for stopping by!

Feeling French with PLG#14

We’re feeling a little French with the Paper Lovin’ Gals this week.. It’s challenge #14.

How great is this image? I love the colors in the dresser, those Dark Browns and the Vanilla with the text paper in the background! Lots of ideas running through my head with this one. For my project I used My Digital Studio and a Designer kit for a 8×8 Page. I transformed it into a 6×6 card, changing up the colors and added in some extras.

This is a quick post today.. I have a sick kiddo at home with a 104 fever that doesn’t see to want to break. We hope you can join us this week at the Paper Lovin’ Gals, head over to the Blog and see what the rest of the Design Team has created this week.. Lots of great ideas to get your MoJo started!

Friday Mashup #40 Happy Birthday!!

This week at the Friday Mashup it’s all about Birthdays!! I’m hosting this week and January is packed full of Birthdays for me.. so, I have a ton of cards to make and I figured this would be a great way to get started. Don’t you love this Birthday Drink?

For this Mashup we’re using Pastels aka Chalks or you could use some Chalk Inks Mashed up with a fun Birthday theme.. as always you are welcome to do the Mashup or just choose one of them separately. For my project I went with the Mashup! For my card Sketch I used this week’s MoJo Monday Sketch LOVE IT!!! This is a fun sketch.

I started with the colors Bravo Burgundy, Sahara Sand & Pink Pirouette right off my Color Coach! My card base is Bravo Burgundy with some layers of Pink Piroette & Sahara Sand DSP’s. I also added a circle of Whisper White that I ran through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.

I stamped the Cupcake image onto a piece of shimmer white card stock in VersaMark and then using a cotton ball I pounced the Pastels over the VersaMarked image. Then using the coordinating cupcake punch I punched it out and pieced it onto a Bravo Burgundy  1 3/4″ Circle. I cut the heart image out freehand and then I added apearl to the center.  I stamped the sentiment inBravo Burgundy as well.

Head over to the Friday Mashup Blog and see what the rest of the Design Team created this week for the challenge and we hope you’ll join us and there is still time to use this sketch over at MoJo Monday.. I’m also linking my card up to a new Weekly card meme called 52 Week Pickup! Head over to Patrice’s Blog and see what it’s all about. This is one sketch you will use again and again! Have a great weekend!

Paper Lovin’ Gals’ #13

It’s a bit chilly outside here in MD and this week at the Paper Lovin’ Gals We’ve got a bit of a frosty inspiration photo for you all. But how cute is that bird?

I decided to go with a Snowy/Winter card and then I added a sentiment that will allow me to use it for a Birthday! I have a lot of Birthday’s January it seems, including my own. This however is for my longtime friend Dawn. Her birthday is on the 2nd and it always pops in so fast after Christmas that her card is always late!

I used the set Season of Friendship and a Birthday one ( I can’t find the box at the moment).. I started with a Cherry Cobbler card base and then I added a layer of Early Espresso and Whisper White. I stamped the tree in Early Espresso and then I added some Bashful blue snowflakes. The little bird is stamped in Cherry Cobbler, and I added some Glue to a few of the snowflakes to adhere some Dazzling Diamonds glitter.

For the snow base I just tore a few pieces of Whisper White and glued them on at different heights and then I added some more dazzling Diamonds. Capturing that glitter was a bit tricky while I was outside. I also added some Cherry Cobbler brads to each side of my sentiment.

I don’t usually do much to the inside of my cards.. But I’m trying to take the time to add a little something extra in there. So I put my Birthday sentiment on the inside. I stamped it onto a piece of Whisper White and then punched it out with the Decorative Label Punch and then punched a second in Cherry Cobbler and used it to Frame the White one.

Head over to the Paper Lovin’ Gals Blog and see what the rest of the design team created this week.. We have a lot of different projects! We hope you’ll join us this week.

I’m going Goth for FM#38

Happy New Year’s Eve Eve everyone!!! This week at the Friday Mashup Kasey is our Hostess and she is giving us a Shiny Challenge! We’re Mash’ing up A New Year’s project with something Shiny (Glitter, Rhinestones etc..)

I had a bit of a tough time with this challenge.. I only had 1 New Year’s Saying stamp in my stash and I just wasn’t feeling it. So I broke out a Digital stamp and went a bit Goth! This is a Digital from Tiddly Inks, they have some really cute images, great for coloring!

I printed the image onto a piece of White card stock and then I colored it in with Markers and some Glitter Glue for some sparkle. I also shaded around the edges with some Crumb cake ink. I used Basic Grey & Real Red card stock for my card base.

I’ve been trying to do something to the inside of my cards lately.. So I put a sentiment that was fitting with the image on the inside and I sponged the edges like I did to the image on the front as well.

This would be for that person that doesn’t really look forward to the New Year or making those resolutions..lol Head over to the Friday Mashup blog and see what the rest of the Design team has created this week and we hope you will play along with us.. The Challenge closes on January 4th at 11pm EST. And FM#37 & #38 are open until Jan. 4th as well.. Lots of time to still play along!

Have a great New Year’s and be Safe out there!!! Don’t Drink and Drive!!!

Hello Again!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Holiday Season and you are getting to spend some time with your family and friends. My husband had to work all weekend so I loaded my kiddos up and we drove to PA for Christmas, we stayed with my Dad & then my Grandparents. We have an annual Christmas Eve party that my family has been doing for a little over 20 years now and I haven’t been back for it in about 15 years so it was nice. I also arranged a get together with some longtime friends from High School that I haven’t seen in about 18 years so it was a great weekend!

This was the first time that my Grandparents had both of my kids visting along with my Brother’s son so we had to take a photo! This was also the first time my Mother & Father  had all three of their grandkids together… So, I think it was a special weekend for everyone.

Now onto my stamping project which is why you stopped by..lol This week at Paper Lovin’ Gals we have a great New Year inspired Photo for you.

I love the colors in this photo so that is where I went with my card… I used the Pennant punch along with the Pennant Parade Stamp set. I also found a Happy New Year Rub On in my stash. I thought I had a New Year stamp but do you think I could find it anywhere?

This is the first time I’ve used the stamp set with the Pennant Punch and I LOVE it!! It’s so cute when it’s all put together… I started with a Crumb Cake card base and then I added a piece of Pacific Point after trimming off about an 1″ from the bottom where I added my rub on. For the numbers I used the Sizzix set GoGo Boots and I cut them out in the colors, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Wisteria Wonder & Regal Rose . Then I cut some out in Basic Black and offset them to give a shadow effect and bring in some of the Black from the photo.

I added some glitter glue to the letters and the stars under the Happy New Year to add a bit of sparkle! The ribbon is Wisteria Wonder and I added a Glitter Brad in Tempting Turquoise. Make sure to head over to the Paper Lovin’ Gals blog and see what the rest of the Design Team created this week and we hope you will play along with us. I’ll see you back here tomorrow!
